On May 7, 2026, more than 70 relatives, workers, and community members gathered to help pick up litter around our homes and workplaces.

We have so much love and pride in our neighbourhood, and this was a great hands-on opportunity to put that care into practice in a meaningful way! Dozens of bags of garbage were filled and our sincere thanks to the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ for the disposal of the bags.

This event was launched in partnership with the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, as part of their annual spring cleaning, and we'd love to partner with more organizations. Do you live or work in the area? Reach out via our contact page if you'd like to organize a clean-up in partnership with MSAAP!

We were also excited to see the MADVAC out and about during the clean-up!

The MADVAC is a litter vacuum and compactor that sweeps large, sharp, and difficult to pick up litter to help make community clean-ups more efficient and safe for volunteers.

Our sincere thanks to the Winnipeg Foundation for their purchase of the MADVAC and ongoing support of the Main Street Area Action Plan. Our thanks as well to Siloam Mission's MOST Team for building the MADVAC into their clean-up programming.
